Hi lads, i was on the net today getting some info on the U.S. airfields in Northants during the war, managed to find a couple of good sites i will put together a little post about them. Thought it be be a good idea to spend a Sunday visiting them in the summer? i will put the info up over the weekend.

That's great topic Neil, always been interested in the old bases. You can still see the outline of many of them on google earth.

there is a book kicking around somewhere on WW2 Northamptonshire airfields, you have Chelveston, benefield, Spanhoe, Harrington, Desborough, Grafton underwood, Polebrook so a lot to look at.

Get yourself on Google Maps, choose satellite terrain and go in close, streetview is everywhere & its easier to navigate on maps than google earth. Use the up & down arrows to move about. Mick check out chopwell & conset its brill
